Seniors Fest

Take part in the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere from 12-23 February.

The NSW Seniors Festival reaches up to 500,000 seniors each year, giving attendees the chance to make new friends or get together with old ones at an array of local community events, many of which are free or heavily discounted.

As part of this festival, we wanted to highlight two of our programs for seniors – Ageing with Attitude and Optimal Life.

Ageing with Attitude explores articles that convey the message of ‘age is nothing, attitude is everything’. The program explores how older age can be a satisfying and emotionally healthy time of life by living with joy and understanding the inter-relationship of body, mind and spirit. Ageing with Attitude airs fortnightly on Saturdays at 4pm.

Optimal Life covers news, advice and advocacy information for seniors from a variety of publications, including The Senior. It is presented by a dedicated team of three, who source relevant, informative and entertaining articles for their listeners. Optimal Life airs fortnightly on Thursdays at 8.30pm and Sundays at 9pm.

One of the festival’s feature events is the annual NSW Seniors Festival Expo, a fun and free event from 13-14 February with over 60 exhibitors, live stage entertainment and plenty of games, giveaways and workshops.

The festival is presented by the Department of Communities & Justice (DCJ) to celebrate the role seniors play and the contributions they make to the NSW community.
