Rural Programming

As part of moving into the future we’ll be making changes to the morning programs. There will be both a new rural-focused news segment and a dedicated timeslot for religious programs.

From Monday 3 August, 2RPH will switch from the BBC World Service at 6.07am and broadcast new programs: National Radio News, Rural News and Rural Livestock. Religious programs will then follow from 6.15am to 7am and include: Vantage Point, Christianity Works, and Insight for Living.

The three rural programs will provide a more diverse perspective for our listeners:

- The National Radio News will provide independent, comprehensive, and current editorial;
- Rural News will offer a daily wrap of what’s affecting Australia’s farming and regional communities, and
- Rural Livestock will round-up the latest significant cattle, sheep and lamb prices.

So if you’re a buyer or seller of livestock, or know someone who is, we’ll have the information you need.

The much-loved Breakfast show will kick off at 7am and mark the start of the day’s newspaper readings. A listener request will be incorporated into the line-up with the introduction of a new segment for Birth Notices, as well as the Death Notices.

General Manager Sancha Donald said the new programming reflects listener feedback that has been collected over the last two years.
