Welcome to the December Signals newsletter.
Here we are at December and reflecting on the year that was. What’s your favourite 2RPH highlight from 2024? We’d love to hear it. Send an email to [email protected] to tell us about it.
One of the big highlights for us was our audience research results. Our audience has reached a record 209,000, the highest recorded level since the start of our McNair research. We also learned that Listener satisfaction is notably high, with 58% reporting they are ‘very satisfied’ and 32% as ‘satisfied.’ Our audience remains loyal, with 60% having listened for three years or longer.
This is a real testament to the commitment and dedication of nearly 200 volunteers who ensure quality programming every day. From on-air talent to those behind the scenes in rostering, production, and governance, each member contributes to our station’s success.
We’ve also been connecting with organizations representing people with disabilities and older Australians and the discussions have been particularly fruitful. Feedback highlighted Radio 2RPH as a trusted information source, a critical factor in an era marked by widespread concerns about misinformation.
We really look forward to deepening these connections next year and being able to share more crucial information with our community.
And to that end, we can now share the very exciting news that 2RPH was successful in applying for a grant from the Wicking Trust. The grant will fund a new program, which will start early in the new year, to have discussions about ageing and everything that comes with it, including death.
We will have fortnightly guests sharing information about estate planning, aged care, how to access services, heath, spirituality and more.
So 2025 looks set to be another big year but before we get to that, remember that we’ll be here all the way through the festive period so keep tuning in.
