This month Anthea Williams delves into the ambitions and motivations behind one of the major innovators in the Australian film industry, Bus Stop Films. CEO Tracey Corbin Machett (pictured above) and actress and filmmaker Audrey O’Connor chat about trail blazing in the space, changing community attitudes around the rights of people living with disability and using storytelling to showcase their contribution to society.
Bus Stop Films has been in operation since 2009 teaching film studies to adults with disabilities and others from marginalised communities. In 12 years, Bus Stop have made over 50 films in pursuit of their mission to make the whole industry more inclusive.
