2RPH is unlike any other station, it broadcasts news and magazine articles, books and important interviews to people who cannot access printed material on their own. This group of Australians are expected to grow.

Based on self-reported data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) 2014-15 National Health Survey (NHS), over 12 million Australians (55 per cent) had at least one long-term vision disorder; about 421,000 (1.8 per cent of the population) had a cataract; 236,000 (1 per cent) had macular degeneration; and, 129,000 (0.6 per cent) had complete or partial blindness.

With an ageing population (there were 3.8 million Australians aged 65 or over in 2017), vision disorders, which increase with age, are only set to grow. This makes services like 2RPH invaluable for keeping people informed and educated about what is going on in their community.

The general membership fee is only $33 per year (financial year) or $16.50 with a valid concession card. Membership fees, donations and bequests provide a great ongoing source of income to support the production of 10,000 hours of live-to-air, pre-recorded and podcast programs that we do.
