Smith Journal

2RPH has over 200 programs, including the fortnightly program Smith Journal. Get to know what the program has to offer with presenter Siri Burke.

For new listeners to Smith Journal, what is the program about?

Smith covers a range of topics, including architecture, design, photography, art, science, history, fashion, and profiles of people doing interesting things with their lives. There is also a dose of humour thrown in for good measure.

What made you decide to present the program?

I really enjoy reading Smith; it's bursting with fascinating perspectives and quirky things I wouldn't have otherwise heard about. It's fabulous for cocktail party conversation.

What do you enjoy about being part of 2RPH?

I enjoy contributing to the collective body of work, and I find it really satisfying to make the program too.

Lastly, how long have you been volunteering with 2RPH and what made you decide to reach out and become part of the organisation?

I've been volunteering for about six months. I decided to join in after listening to the station during my work commute, and developing a real fondness for it, like a charming aunt I'd go to visit. I thought it sounded like loads of fun, and I wanted to learn something new.

To hear Siri present Smith Journal on 2RPH, tune in on Sundays at 7:30pm and repeated episodes on Tuesdays at 3:30pm. For the full interview, visit the 2RPH website here.
