Our New Program for Lovers of Literature!

Wed, 29 September 2021

GrantaGranta is a quarterly literary magazine originally founded by students at Cambridge University. While it does boast 27 Nobel Prize winners among its authors it is a highly readable publication.

Published in book form four times a year, Granta is respected around the world for its mix of outstanding new fiction, poetry, reportage, memoir, photography and art.

The 2RPH Granta program is the brain child of presenter Tomas Drevikovsky, a voracious reader and classical musician who has been a volunteer at 2RPH for over three years.

The first episode goes to air on Monday 4th October and explores the theme of Global Warming. Guest Editor Isabella Tree says, "Never has there been a greater need for writers who can communicate about the environment in such clear, immediate and powerful ways, who can envisage the past as well as the future. The knowledge is already out there. We just have to listen. The contributors to this issue all have a deep understanding of how nature works. Some are scientists; others, environmental journalists exploring the latest thinking about ecosystems and how to repair them; or poets, novelists and activists examining our responses to the current crisis. The stories in this issue will, I hope, be both enlightening and empowering, galvanising us to bring about change."

Granta goes to air at 5:30pm on Mondays in Week 1 and is repeated at 1:30 on the following Sunday afternoon.
