Fireworks Broadcasting

Your favourite NSW radio reading service will continue to broadcast over the airwaves this Christmas and New Year, with only some minor changes to programming.

Christmas: 2RPH will be broadcasting the regular ‘Carols by Candlelight’ in Melbourne from 8pm on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day will feature no live-to-air broadcasts, with Production Manager Peter Worthington organising a variety of programs for your listening pleasure. Boxing Day will be business as usual, with Mary-Jane Hogan and Fran Telec starting the day with Breakfast.

New Year’s Eve and Day: Normal schedules are lined up for New Year’s Eve and Day, notwithstanding the Sydney New Year's Eve fireworks description. This broadcast is in collaboration with the ABC and audio descriptions will be on for both the 9pm and midnight fireworks from Sydney Harbour. Highlights include the Welcome to Country ceremony, Harbour of Light Parade and fireworks at 9pm and midnight.

Between these times, 2RPH will switch to the BBC as is normal on Sunday nights.

If you’re intending to head along to the Sydney New Year’s Eve events, visit the official website here for all the accessibility options.
