2RPH programs New Voices and Ablequest have been nominated for awards in this year's Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) Community Radio Awards 2020. And, we are excited!

New program New Voices has been nominated for Best New Radio Program, which is a testament to the work and creativity of producer and presenter Maria Issaris. As Deputy Chair of 2RPH, Maria took a fast-track course with one of our technical volunteers to understand the technical aspects of recording a program, and has shown incredible commitment and dedicated to bringing this program to life.

New Voices

New Voices is about the art of storytelling, featuring the work of new writers (most of whom are yet to be published); they provide listeners with writing tips, read a sample of their work, and are critiqued by a complete stranger. Tune in to New Voices to find your way back to why we all want to read and write stories to begin with - sharing experiences, making sense of the world, and creating worlds with words. You can hear all episodes of New Voices here: https://www.2rph.org.au/listen...

Meanwhile, Ablequest, a veteran of the 2RPH program line-up, has been nominated for Excellence in Innovative Programming and Content. The volunteer team behind Ablequest - Barbara Sullivan, Marni Roper, and Elaine Wziontek - have shown incredible professionalism and journalism in producing the interview-style show. Ablequest is a series of 15-minute programs which examines developments in assistive technology and initiatives for those people living with a wide range of disabilities.

Ablequest Podcast

The team have interviewed respected experts like Gabrielle Mordy, CEO and Artistic Director of Studio A, which helps adult artists with intellectual disabilities achieve artistic and economic goals; Morwenna Collet, a specialist in disability in the music industry and a 2019 Churchill Fellow; Summer Petrosius, a speech pathologist and co-founder of the successful social and support network app, AbleFinder; plus many, many more. Award winners will be announced publicly from Monday 2 November. Fingers crossed for our hard-working and creative programming!
